Kathleen (Kelly) Bylewski, LPC
Mental Health & Counseling located in Ohio City, Cleveland, OH
I am Kathleen (Kelly) Bylewski, an honors graduate from The University of Akron’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Cleveland State University. During my studies, I served as the President of Chi Sigma Iota, the National Counseling Association, and I remain a passionate advocate for the counseling profession through my role as a committee member for the Ohio Counseling Association.
My background is rooted in community mental health, and I have extensive training and experience working with clients across the lifespan. I’ve gained valuable experience in the Lorain County school system, Intensive Home-Based Services (IHBT), and Child and Adolescent Group Services (CAGS) at Bellefaire JCB and Catholic Charities in Lorain County.
I welcome the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including children, adults, women, parents, and geriatric clients. I specialize in supporting individuals facing women’s issues, grief, depression, anxiety, somatic illness, college-related challenges, suicidality, ADHD, panic disorder, agoraphobia, autism in adults, trauma, and life transitions. I also offer a safe space for conversations around spirituality and religious beliefs.
As your therapist, I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where you can relax and begin your healing journey. I will listen to your story without judgment and gently guide you toward reclaiming your confidence and building the life you envision. Having managed my own anxiety and depression since childhood, I understand how challenging it can be to show up every day and do your best. My personal experiences have shaped my approach to treatment, allowing me to foster mutual trust and understanding with my clients so they feel supported and never alone.
Our first appointment will involve a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to explore your life experiences and what has brought you to counseling. Together, we’ll explore interventions, develop skills, and have meaningful conversations about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as we move toward healing.
I have experience with DBT, CBT, ACT, and narrative therapy. I am certified in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and trained to provide EMDR under supervision. I encourage and promote self-care, tailoring evidence-based interventions to meet your unique needs. My approach centers on meeting you where you are and customizing our work to support your goals.
I look forward to walking alongside you on your path to healing and growth.
